A biotech company had multiple lab data tracking systems in place, particularly in the areas of pre-clinical assays with dependence on CROs. bPrescient worked with the client to compare several systems and select the best fit for consolidating their data management capabilities.
Challenge: Multiple Systems In Place And Complex Assays Not Tracked
The client ran a large number of in vitro and in vivo assays and was in the process of implementing a data platform to manage that data. However, it became clear that the platform did not support their in vivo assays, so another platform was chosen. This led to a situation where multiple platforms were in place and the company wanted to gain a better understanding of all their capabilities so they could make an informed decision about consolidating them. In particular, the client needed to verify that their complex in vitro assays could be processed by the chosen system.
Solution: Assessed Systems On Representative Assays And Selected Best Fit
bPrescient worked to identify representative in vitro assays that cover the diversity of all assays, gathered requirements for those assays and developed prototype workflows to track and manage the assays. The resulting prototypes were reviewed with stakeholders and functionalities that did not exist out of the box were identified. The resulting prototypes sufficiently demonstrated the capability of the chosen platform to meet the client’s needs. bPrescient prepared a plan to move all assays to this platform, including tasks for each assay, and resource and timeline estimates to complete the consolidation.
Outcome: Pre-Clinical Data Tracked Effectively
The client made an informed decision about the best platform for their varied pre-clinical assay data and moved forward with implementing all assays in that platform, with assistance from the bPrescient team.
