A clinical-stage biotechnology company was faced with a set of disparate systems for managing and organizing documents and data for their drug discovery programs. bPrescient planned and executed work in collaboration with the company’s informatics team to consolidate their data in a single system where it is tagged and indexed.
Challenge: Multiple Systems And Data Sources Led To Manual Processes
The client had multiple systems for tracking data related to their drug programs and was receiving data from multiple sources including CROs and internal labs. They were having difficulty finding all the data associated with each program which made assembling regulatory submissions challenging. Reporting to management about the status of program data was a manual and time-consuming process.
Solution: Centralized Cloud Storage And Robust SOPs
bPrescient reviewed the existing systems and the client’s requirements and made a recommendation to centralize on a single cloud file storage system along with an experiment index in the company’s ELN. bPrescient designed processes for CRO data upload, for tagging files for each program, and for linking data files to automatically generated ELN experiments. bPrescient developed training materials so the client’s teams could consistently upload and tag data files and made the data available so that dashboards could be built to communicate program status with management. bPrescient also assisted with migrating documents from existing programs.
Outcome: Data Accessible And Available For Submissions
The client now has all their drug program data in a single repository, has processes for uploading data consistently, and can link their data back to the original ELN experiment. They can now more easily assemble data for regulatory submissions and trust that the data is complete and accurate.
