Discovery Data Management Roadmap
Business Value Delivered: Accelerated Drug Discovery
Summary: Bringing Standardization To Virtual Drug Discovery Model
bPrescient worked with an early-stage drug discovery company that operated using a virtual model by outsourcing all wet lab work to CRO’s. bPrescient developed a roadmap for managing the data from the CRO’s, including development of an RFI and performing vendor selection.
Challenge: Many Disparate Providers And Data Sources Leads To Inefficiencies
The client was exclusively using CRO’s for performing discovery and wet lab work, but didn’t have any organized SOPs for transferring, managing and organizing the data from the CROs. This led to challenges in finding data, collecting data sets for analysis, and reporting. In addition, the management of materials and compounds, while physically being done at CRO’s, was not accurately represented in the client’s data repositories, leading to errors and lost time to track down physical stocks.
Solution: Select Single Data Platform And Create Implementation Roadmap
bPrescient’s team gathered criteria for a data platform and associated workflows, wrote an RFI to gather information from vendors, and participated in vendor review and selection. bPrescient developed a 12-month roadmap for implementing and using the selected platform to ensure successful adoption. Lastly, bPrescient identified other areas related to the data platform that could be automated or made more efficient through technology applications, as a guide for work following a 12-month roadmap.
Outcome: Seamless Platform Allows Focus On Discovery
bPrescient drove the assessment, selection and adoption of a new technology platform for CRO data management, allowing the client to focus on discovery and data mining to support scaled-up future therapeutic development.
